The Chorus is Speaking: Artists in Conversation

The Chorus is Speaking: Artists in Conversation In-Person

The Chorus is Speaking: Experiencing Identities of Blackness in Canada is an exhibition that brings together eight artists exploring facets of the Black experience on Turtle Island. Through a multitude of media, Ojo Agi, Christina Battle, Charles Campbell, Chantal Gibson, Dana Inkster, Karin Jones, Jan Wade, and Syrus Marcus Ware form a chorus of collective and individual power, voice, and perspective.

Join Legacy Art Galleries for a discussion panel examining the exhibition themes and artistic practices of the exhibiting artists.

Panelists include: Charles Campbell, Chantal Gibson, Karin Jones, and Syrus Marcus Ware.

Moderated by: Jenelle Pasiechnik, co-curator of The Chorus is Speaking; Curator of Contemporary Art, Campbell River Art Gallery.

Following the discussion there will be a reception celebrating the participating artists of The Chorus is Speaking and the adjoining exhibition at the Legacy Art Galleries, Rooting for Reclamation.

Free and open to the public. Due to the size of the venue, a limited number of seats are available. Registration is required.
