Data Management Plans (DMPs)

Data Management Plans (DMPs) Online

Aimed at grad students and faculty researchers, this lecture-style workshop reviews the key components of a data management plan (DMP) and offers guidance on using the DMP Assistant, a bilingual tool for preparing data management plans.

A DMP is a formal and evolving document that outlines the practices, processes, and strategies of the data you expect to acquire or generate during the course of a research project.

The Government of Canada has announced its new Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy. The policy aims to support Canadian research excellence by promoting data management practices.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the importance of good research data management

  • Be familiar with the DMP Assistant

  • Be familiar with key data management planning considerations
