Exhibition Launch: Lowens-Libraries Student Fellows

Exhibition Launch: Lowens-Libraries Student Fellows Online

Join UVic Libraries for the launch of new student-curated exhibitions highlighting rare and unique materials from Special Collections and University Archives. Student curators produced their exhibitions as part of the Peter and Ana Lowens University of Victoria Libraries Special Collections Student Fellowship Program, which took place for the first time in Spring 2022. Curated by students Madyson Huck, Sonja Pinto, Amogha Lakshmi Halepuram Sridhar, and Tamara Wallace, the exhibitions provide insight into a range of objects from the collection, delving into their historical, cultural, and material contexts. The exhibitions explore early modern alchemical texts, Victorian print culture, including The Strand and Michael Field’s Long Ago, in addition to letters written by modernist authors Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot. This quick paced overview will introduce the items and broad themes covered in more depth in the exhibitions.
