GIS in a nutshell: An introduction to ArcGIS Online In-Person

ArcGIS_Online (free public version) is an online web mapping platform.

This introductory workshop covers basic concepts in GIS and includes exercises on loading data, changing basemaps, adding labels and styles, and making a webmap.

This workshop is for students who are new to GIS to understand and utilize some of the main features of ArcGIS_Online.

  • No previous knowledge of GIS or statistics is required
  • All data will be provided
  • Duration of the workshop is 1.5 hours (may vary depending on previous knowledge and experience)
