Using the Libraries to support First Generation Student Academic Success (and Pizza Night) In-Person
First Generation students at UVic are invited to enjoy pizza, social time, and a short introduction to navigating academic libraries (to find community, deepen understanding, and support academic skills development). You'll also learn about UVic's First In Class Mentorship program and meet other First In Class students and mentors.
This event is open to first generation students in any stage of their program. Usually, a first-generation student is one whose parents, caregivers or chosen family did not complete a university degree, did not complete their degree in Canada or the United States, or students who are/were youth in care.
