Introduction to grey literature searching (e.g. reports, policy papers, and more!) Online
This workshop introduces grey literature—information produced outside traditional commercial publishing channels—such as government reports, policy papers, conference proceedings, and organization/association publications. Participants will learn how these sources can enrich their research by offering timely insights, reducing publication bias, and incorporating diverse perspectives.
This session covers challenges in finding and evaluating grey literature. Attendees will gain practical strategies to help them confidently integrate non-commercial resources into their research.
Learning objectives - participants will be able to:
- Define what grey literature is (and is not)
- Explain the importance and value of grey literature
- Apply effective search strategies to locate grey literature specific to a topic
