Smartphone Photography In-Person

Are you a UVic student, staff, or faculty member and want to learn more about taking better photos with your smartphone? This workshop is a great place to start. Much of what is learned in this presentation and the practice activities can be transferred over to photography with other types of cameras. (Note: As there are several aspects of photography to discuss, the presentation portion of this workshop is longer than many of our other workshops. Weather and time permitting, we may opt to leave the library and go for a photo walk later in the workshop if this appeals to those attenting.)

Covered in this workshop:

  • Setting focus and exposure manually in a smartphone camera app

  • Following basic guidelines to improve composition and lighting

  • Use a smartphone app for taking and post-processing photos

Note: This workshop will be held in person.
