Integrating Open Science into Teaching: A Faculty Panel In-Person / Online

Join the Open Science Community of Victoria (OSCV) on Tuesday, March 10, from 3:00–4:30 PM for a faculty panel exploring how open science and open scholarship can be meaningfully integrated into teaching.

This hybrid session features three 20‑minute presentations followed by Q&A, highlighting practical approaches for bringing open science and open scholarship into the classroom, such as incorporating open tools, supporting open publishing, using open peer review, and designing assignments that model open workflows.

Our speakers—Michael Paskevicius (UVic Educational Technology), Steve Lindsay (UVic Psychology), and Michelle Harrison (TRU Instructional Designer)—will offer insights from their teaching and design practices, highlighting approaches that foster transparency, credibility, and collaboration.

Enjoy complimentary refreshments and thoughtful conversation as we explore how open science and open scholarship can be meaningfully integrated into teaching.

This event offers a welcoming, inclusive space to connect, share, and learn. Whether you’re faculty, a student, a postdoc, a staff member, or simply curious about open research practices, OSCV invites you to be part of this interdisciplinary event!

Your full participation in this workshop is important to us. Should you require any accommodations or have questions regarding accessibility, please contact mgrenier@uvic.ca.
