Intro to Image Editing with GIMP Online

Are you a UVic student, staff, or faculty member and want to learn more about free, open-source alternatives to Adobe Photoshop? If so, then this hands-on workshop will give you an introduction to image editing using GIMP software.
Participants will be familiar with the following by the end of this workshop:
- The common uses of GIMP
- How to access basic tools and navigate menus
- How to use layers
- How to do simple edits to a photograph (healing tool, convert to black and white, increase contrast, crop)
- How to resize an image for easier online sharing
- How to use Open As Layers to insert an image into a project
- How to use the Color Picker tool to select a color and use the Bucket Fill tool to add color to an area
- How to use the Foreground Select Tool
