Lasting Impressions: East Asian Seal Art Across Time and Media 2 In-Person

Why learn about seal art?

Seals have been used for centuries in many parts of the world but have gained popularity and even become necessities around multiple areas of Asia. Today, seals are still used in several countries and can hold the same legal power as a signature. Master caligraphers and seal carvers traditionally created these functional pieces of art by hand in different materials such as stone and hard woods. Today, only a few of these Masters remain, but technology, while never replacing the artists and their work, can make this art more accessible to more people.

Note: This workshop will be held in person.
